The hotel is in the heart of the Alésia-Montparnasse district. For many years, this area was favoured by artists. World-famous painter Picasso, acclaimed sculptor Giacometti, admired singer Georges Brassens, to name but a few, all lived very close to Hotel Moulin Vert.

The large glass roofs of the numerous painters' lofts - today converted into apartments - can still be seen. Although, this district lies in the very centre of Paris, it has maintained the character of a small village. Shops, bistros and street markets coexist. Residents and office workers grant the neighbourhood stability and security.

Lively and popular and slightly removed from the never-ending flow of tourists to be found elsewhere in the city, the district of Alésia-Montparnasse enchants visitors looking for the unique atmosphere which was has been the glory of Paris in films and books for many years.
